Tulips

I've always wanted to see the tulip fields in the Netherlands during spring bloom. Domesticated tulips are lovely, but they don't exactly fit my 'working for a living' screen for planting.

But, I do love them regardless, and this is the first time we've seen them flowering at Biltmore Estate, in Asheville, NC, during the Festival of Flowers.

  1. They are beautiful aren't they? I haven't seen the flower fields at Biltmore. I always wanted to go to the Tulip Festival north of Seattle but it never fit our schedule when we lived there. The tulips were wonderful and lasted a long time because they were so fresh.

  2. Very nice Lisa, the various beds make pictures with the flowers. Beautiful.

  3. Hello! I've just entered the blogging world myself and have happened upon yours. What an interesting and peaceful place you've created. I'll be sure and stop by regularly.

I'm a PA gardener of flowers and perennials and anything else that's growing. I'm putting the finishing touches on a lovely greenhouse/potting shed my husband has just built for me. I hope to have photos up soon.

I have seen the tulips in Holland and they were spectacular. When I was a little girl, I used to drool over the tulip pages in the Holland section of our encyclopedia. The I got there myself. What fun and beauty!

I've enjoyed your photos - Happy Gardening!
