A lovely naturalistic front garden
Home landscapes in our part of Quebec (3 hours east of Quebec City, at the gateway to the Gaspé Peninsula) tend to be conservative, reflecting a relatively modest interest in gardening.
I've noticed a distinct increase in gardening interest, though, as we returned after a year and a half away, with two growing seasons behind us now. There had been lots of additions, largely ornamental, some edible, and some more native-oriented, too.
This front garden in Saint Luce, a seaside community not far from Rimouski, was in the later category. Not a native landscape, to be sure, but a lovely one inspired by meadow landscapes, incorporating native perennials and annual ornamental meadow plants, too.
All in front of a lovely historic house. Nice.
Behind the house is the Gulf of the St. Lawrence.
