New gardeners begin

We live next to a 100+ year-old apartment building.

The residents have always been quiet, thanks to respectful landlords, who are well-known local creatives and entrepreneurs.  Nicely, they've been willing to support their tenants in their edible gardening initiatives over the last 8 years or so.

First, several years ago, a very small raised bed with hoops appeared.  That tenant grew greens under cover.  Then another tenant grew greens and other vegetables  in the same bed, left behind by the previous tenant. Last year, yet another tenant dug up some of the ornamental beds to try to plant additional veggies.

This year, tomatoes and squash have appeared in the raised bed, and perhaps the same young new gardener has sowed seeds in a wooden flat on the stone wall at the entrance.

Hope for a flourishing garden.  How nice is that?  I don't which of the young women who are new tenants are the gardeners, nor have I seen them, but I loved seeing this flat, newly planted,  late this afternoon.
