Hummingbirds passing through
Reading a book on my iPad, I looked up to see a hummingbird visiting the feeder. We’ve had lots of activity over the last weeks, whether individuals, two taking turns, or occasionally three at a time
The feeders, moved to the upper porch, because of our occasional walk-about bears, have been so much fun; they’re so much closer than they were. It makes great viewing from our main floor living area and kitchen.
We're fortunate to look out into a forest, with a recreated native woodland garden in the understory. The hummingbirds appreciate the Campsis radicans and Lobelia cardinalis, but also the Salvia guaranitica in full flower on the side of the parking spot.
