Echoes of the past
There are ancient stone circles throughout southwest Ireland, and elsewhere, too.
I have no real knowledge about them, except for reading the terse interpretive signs, which are informative, but don't give me a sense of how they were created and why.
They're oriented around solar cycles, precisely located, with a distinct entrance and a focal stone.
Visiting the Ardgroom Stone Circle this afternoon, with a couple of others was remarkable.
The location was singular, now in the middle of a pasture, with an amazing view of the sea and surrounding fields.
