Thinking about onions and gardening to come

It's cold here in Quebec, and snowy.  Time to think about gardening ahead as I sort seeds and plan for late May planting.

So, it was fun to come upon a new variety of onions, grown in Quebec.  They're sweet rose-colored onions.  "Pinkies" was the moniker conveyed by marketing.

Onions normally grown in Quebec are white, yellow, and red, so I was delighted to see these sweeter onions, which I like to use.

I have grown onions and garlic here, but have limited space to devote to them now, having pulled back on my vegetable gardening spaces. I can now buy delicious garlic grown in Quebec, and now have an additional onion option, in addition to the Vidalia onions from the U.S. that pop up in early summer.

We used to live in Georgia, not far from where Vidalia onions are grown, so I'm always glad to see them.
