Local fruit
A writing friend living in the Pacific Northwest posted about a piece about fruit. It had me thinking about seasonal fruits, as I harvest rhubarb stems (really a vegetable), and have homegrown elderberry jam from last summer on homemade toast.
Planting for the future had us putting in more fruit trees in the “orchard” a week ago - I guess adding 13 very small trees elevates the “arboretum” to an orchard.
Heirloom pear and apple, hybrid cherry-plums, and a Hardi-Red nectarine, along with a couple of Canadian plums and a few sour cherries.
Excellent!
The compost-ringed hole mark their location.
