Adding fruits to the garden
I
ordered hardy fruit trees for a Valentine's Day present. Such fun. A
red-fleshed apple, along with some other apples, a heritage Canadian
pear, a plum cot, and several different sorts of plums.
Hmm, I
don't really need more fruit trees, even as the ones we have are shaded,
so not very productive. But fun, nevertheless.
We have an
entire extra space where we've already planted blueberries, restored
the raspberries and have added rhubarb and strawberries.
More fruit trees are on their way in late May.
We already have cherries, apples, pears, and plums.
But so nice to add more, too. I can always invite the local gleaning folks over to harvest!
