Damson plums
Damson plums are cooking down as I write. I think they’re at least a Damson variety as they’re tart fresh, but delicious cooked and sweetened.
Our plum tree is small, in shady circumstances, but this year, it’s produced at least 60 plums - more than enough for me.
I have apples and elderberries to come, not to mention the final Aronia harvest.
Thank goodness for the small chest freezer and the cleaned up one down in the basement. (Hopefully, I’ll just be able to turn that one off when we depart later in fall.)
