Brrr... more seeds, please
Our bird feeder was hopping today -- Eastern Towhees, Northern Cardinals, Carolina Chickadees, and Tufted Titmice.
It was COLD today, with highs around 18°F, and a wind chill factor making it feel about 2°F. We ventured forth for a bit of exercise (taking Mocha out and 'working out' at the local Y for awhile), but otherwise, we hung about indoors.

It is really cold out there! We drove to the Y and walked! That seems so wrong, but, it is too cold! gail
ReplyDeleteOur oldest dog just had eye surgery and we have been having to walk her around the yard with one of those big collars on...the brutal wind catches that and she falls over.
ReplyDeleteThere is a Mockingbird on the railing of the deck, he found the asparagus fern which I neglected to bring in. It has some berries that he seems to be enjoying. Hope they are ok for him. Most of my winterberries and beautyberries are all gone.
Oh, goodness, wasn't the wind amazing! Way too cold to be walking outside... we would normally walk to the Y ourselves, a 20-minute walk, but....I think today will be another 'drive' day.
ReplyDeleteJanet, your poor dog with the collar -- those are no fun even without the wind. Hope she's able to have it off soon.
We saw a huge flock of robins devouring frozen berries yesterday--the berries were some sort of ornamental cherry. Fun to watch, and I'm sure appreciated by the robins.

Cold here too with the blessing of irruptions of continental bohemian waxwing (slightly larger and more colourful than cedar waxwing) around school. I've missed them everytime!!!
